Daldy Street Community Garden

By the tram shed

Te Māra Hapori o Te Tiriti o Daldy (the Daldy Street Community Garden) was created to champion sustainable, healthy living and to offer a welcoming space where the community can gather, pick fresh herbs and vegetables, connect with one another, and play a part in caring for the environment.

At the garden, ngāi tipu (flora) is grown to give people the chance to enjoy fresh, healthy kai, learn about sustainability and regenerative growing practices, keep important gardening knowledge alive for future generations, and contribute to local charities through the produce and skills the garden supports.

You are welcome to take a small amount of produce, but only from planter boxes marked with a green tag. Boxes marked red are either not ready to harvest or are set aside for specific purposes.

Looked over by amazing community volunteers and For the Love of Bees, who occasionally hold gardening workshops in the gardens.

Free parking for your first hour at Jellicoe Street car park. See more here
