The OuterLink is one of the easiest ways to get around the Auckland’s inner suburbs.

It starts and ends at Newmarket and St Lukes, travelling through the city centre. Since 17 November 2024, it no longer travels through Epsom, Mount Eden, and Balmoral. The buses are orange.

The route goes:

  • through Parnell, Herne Bay, Westmere, Point Chevalier, Mount Albert
  • through the city centre on Wellesley Street
  • past the University of Auckland and AUT
  • past Auckland War Memorial Museum
  • to Meola Road and MOTAT.

Timetable

Monday to Friday

Every 12 to 15 minutes from 6am to midnight.

Weekends and public holidays

Every 15 minutes from 6am to midnight.

The actual frequency of buses may vary.

Cost

Normal fares apply. If you use a contactless payment method or an AT HOP card, fares are based on the number of zones between the stations you tag on and off at.
