Artists from across the motu are assembling this Winter/Matariki season at Basement Theatre to give you a much-needed dose of what’s good in the world - live connections, creation, joy, artistry and community!

Unconquerable

Celebrate 16 years of Hobson Street Theatre Company with an evening of storytelling from their whānau. These stories honour the people, experiences, and connections that have defined the past 16 years.

Disco Pigs

Disco Pigs follows the characters Pig and Runt, who have been inseparable since birth until a new discovery occurs during one wild, violent and chaotic night. Originally performed by Cillian Murphy and Eileen Walsh in 1996, this timeless play continues to resonate.

Step into the Fire

Watch as 10 spunky high schoolers step into the theatre world, performing 45 minutes of improv. Inspired by the likes of Bull Rush, Drop Out, Shoot from the Hip, and all the funny reels we're totally not addicted to!

This second instalment spotlights three plays by queer playwrights, directed by artists from Basement Theatre’s past, present, and future, and performed by all‑star casts.
